The School Development Plan (SDP) #6

SDP element #6 is focussed on teacher professionalism.  The Principal has a key role in ensuring that teachers see themselves as professionals.  There are unique elements of teaching that define it as a profession: for example being able to translate prescribed syllabus outcomes into effective student learning experiences and knowing when students are ready to tackle new learning.  Teaching is not a vocation you take on because you couldn't make it elsewhere in other professions.

SDP element #6
Core principles of best practice teaching and student learning processes as applied in the school.
Aligned SE criterion
Criterion #4: My school helps me to learn how to learn.
Criterion #5:  My school makes sure that as I progress I don’t develop gaps in my English language, mathematics and digital skills learning.
Criterion #11:  We the school staff accept responsibility for keeping up to date.
