School Development Planning (SDP) element #18

This element is about the non teaching staff, a very important group in any school.


Roles of non-teaching staff who support in the classrooms and the administrative clerical staff.

Criterion #7:  My school cares about me as a staff member and has reasonable expectations of me.
Current school documentation and situation
The roles of non-teaching staff members, clerical and classroom are  clearly documented and need no adjustment for 2016.

Induct 2 new teacher aides

Process for achieving the objectives
The mentor teachers carry out the inductions, taking feedback from the 2 new staff members on how they have been able to take on the culture of the school and how they have found their classroom roles.  The mentor teachers prepare  a written report on the induction.
Outcome(s) of the assessment of the attainment of the objective(s)
The 2 new staff report through their mentor teachers being satisfied with their induction. The Principal views the mentor teacher reports.

The aligned SE criterion database shows that the 2 new non-teaching members of staff are effectively fulfilling their roles.

You will have noted the reference to feeding into the School Effectiveness database, in this case for SE Criterion #7.  This is a general principle to be applied as the School Development elements are activated.
